L. Magdangal is a self-taught oil painter based in San Francisco, working across abstraction, figurative painting, and portraiture. An avid traveler, she draws inspiration from the world at large, and from a formative period in her early twenties spent in the city's queer culture, figure drawing classes, and gay clubs, an era still visible in the faces she paints.
Her process moves largely by stream of consciousness, exploring spiritual mythology and self-discovery through oils and oil sticks, with acrylics worked in for murals and larger commissions.
