I am a self-taught artist based in San Francisco. As an avid traveler, I find inspiration in the world at large, which drives me to create my personal "slice of life" works.

Growing up in a politically queer city heavily influenced my daily practice, consistently drawing me back to the figures and portraits of my early twenties, a formative time spent navigating figure drawing classes and gay clubs. My primary artistic influences from that era include films like Bruno Nuytten's Camille Claudel, Andy Warhol's Querelle, and David Lynch's Wild at Heart. Music also served as a significant soundtrack to my life, with artists like Alison Moyet, Sinead O'Connor, Book of Love, and The Smiths playing a pivotal role in my personal journey.

Conceptually, my work explores spiritual mythology and themes of self-discovery. While my mediums and subject matter often blur, a consistent visual thread keeps the work cohesive. My landscapes share the sensibility of my collages, and my portraits reflect my figurative work.

My process is largely a stream of consciousness, though I occasionally refer to my sketchbook. I primarily work with oils and oil sticks, but incorporate acrylics as needed. For instance, when creating murals, I utilize acrylic paint for the background and oils for the figures.

While my personal series are driven entirely by an internal need for expression, my murals and commissions are highly collaborative. Drawing from my background as a longtime hairstylist, I welcome feedback and enjoy merging visions with clients to bring these projects to life.

I previously completed a transformative one-week residency in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am eager to participate in a more intensive, long-term residency alongside a dedicated art community. I believe that the mentorship and feedback provided by such a program are essential for realizing my full potential as an artist.
